The EDT Case Studies 2 course is taught in Semester B to provide students with the opportunity to apply the core skills in lighting, sound and stage tech that they have learnt in the Fundamentals courses. The course is taught in the EDT Bethanie Annex campus and is taught on Monday mornings and afternoons.
In Semester B the first project is dedicated to lighting, sound and stage tech. The second project is a collaborative project provinding the opportunity for students to apply their lighting sound and stage tech skills collaboratively. They are scheduled around the Fundamentals classes to facilitate the opportunity to apply newly acquired skills.

This course builds upon the content of Entertainment Design and Technology Case Studies I and is comprised of a series of investigative lab projects and visits to local or regional entertainment industry production sites. The course provides the student with opportunities to observe, investigate and experiment with the practical applications of Entertainment Design and Technology. Project work is designed to challenge the student’s understanding, critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving skills with regard to the application and implementation of current entertainment industry systems and methodology. Emphasis is placed upon both departmentalised operations as well as the collaborative teamwork required to mount a small-scale production. Site visits are designed to elaborate upon current industry trends and technology.
Students will have a greater understanding of the application and operation of certain Entertainment Design and Technology systems and methodologies. Students will also have a refined understanding and appreciation for the utilisation of such methods and systems as part of a creative process.

The aim of the class is to provide the opportunity for students to apply skills acquired with the Fundamentals of Sound 1 course and to demonstrate the skills and abilities to create a 30 second radio advert.
Stage Tech Project 1:
4-D Movie Project:
For this assignment you are required to to work with a small group of classmates, taking inspiration from a specific movie clip, to create a 4-D live theatrical adaptation of the movie.
